St. Edward High School’s award-winning Film Department continues to grow in visual storytelling and impact, sharing the untold stories of the Cleveland community. Under the leadership of Film Department Chair, Ms. Lydia Munnell, Edsmen are empowered to challenge themselves as filmmakers, mature as empathic listeners, and push the envelope as innovative storytellers. Since starting at St. Ed’s in 2016, Lydia has brought creativity and a forward-thinking perspective to her role that’s helped expand the Film Department curriculum and be one step ahead in telling the stories of our community. Her focus has long been and remains this: How can we coach young filmmakers to use the medium of digital filmmaking as a means of listening to others with nuance and finesse?
NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is awarding fifteen (15) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
