Start A Chapter at Your School

The NSHSS Chapter is the perfect gateway for young people in my school community to get engaged in stopping local and global issues as well as promoting acceptance, the value of education, and cooperation. Since I feel so strongly in this, it is important to me to make a lasting mark on my local community by creating a club for generations of high school students in the future to join and work together to make my home-town community a better and more peaceful place.

My school needs this chapter because oftentimes great academics are looked over because of alternative issues. Something needs to be established to keep motivating our students. Starting this chapter will positively impact my peers by showing those who are slacking that doors can open for them should they choose to get back on track. Hopefully, we can encourage them to keep striving.

Starting an NSHSS Chapter at our high school is important to me because I would like to familiarize our fellow students with the endless opportunities available through this organization. I am seeking to bring together a group of academically distinguished individuals with a passion for service, collaboration, and upholding right minded ideals. I am confident that the inclusion of this organization on our campus will contribute to the development and betterment of our student body. Similarly, I believe that our fellow students will view the organization as a significant counterpart to our campus. NSHSS will play a major role as the first invitation-only academic honor society at Crescenta Valley that provides students with valuable resources for success.

My appeal to the organization was its versatility, its incredible mission to make opportunities in communities accessible to everyone and provide an equal opportunity for everyone to be a leader, or at least take the first step toward it. And for someone who was used to moving around so much, the idea was the perfect opportunity and a fast solution to exploring my passion for community service. My passion and my personal connection has led me to cultivate a deep interest in locating and spreading not only popular opportunities in my communities, but also serve as an aid for anyone interested in any field of academics, especially at a school where clubs are focused on very specific goals and fields of academics. I want to make NSHSS a comprehensive society with community service, internships, conferences, camps, and so much more!

I'd like to thank NSHSS again for their generous support of my education and for giving me the opportunities to become more open to global occurrences. The once-in-a-lifetime experiences I enjoyed as an NSHSS scholar were important in my growth, and to this day they remain one of the best memories I have. I hope to give back to and stay involved with the wonderful NSHSS community after I graduate.

I am so impressed with NSHSS. They are hosting so many great events and providing relevant resources to help me be competitive. As an NSHSS Chapter president at my high school, they have supported me in so many ways. This is an organization that truly cares about building and supporting my generation and our goals to take a lead in society. I am a member of several honor societies to include NHS, NEHS, SNHS, ITS, Quill & Scroll, JCL Latin Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. Although I value those organizations and my affiliation with them, it has been NSHSS that has done the most to invest in me.

It’s important to start an NSHSS Chapter at my high school because it will bring awareness to other members there are others who are just like them. Looking for a place to connect with each other while making a difference in their school and community. An NSHSS Chapter will positively impact my peers because our chapter will be more than just a club, but we'll be a family. A family where we don't let labels define the future of our classmates.

I believe the National Society of High School Scholars has impacted my life by encouraging me to pursue academic excellence that will eventually culminate in an improvement in global health services. To all potential members, the National Society of High School Scholars will provide you with an unparalleled network of opportunities for global improvement.
