Celebrating your efforts

Clara Thompson, Westfield High School, Houston, TX

"I cannot do my job without such support from this organization because being the college counselor who serves 9th-12th graders, serving about 2,200 students, I have to make sure I meet their needs. This is one of the biggest ways that I can meet their needs, whatever they may be. Thank you for this opportunity to be celebrated for efforts that make a difference in the future of our generation to come, our future leaders."

"Thank you so much for believing in me and my cause of expanding my curriculum to include current research and relevant topics. I love learning and sharing what I learn with my classes. This grant will allow me to explore a variety of topics that I know are very important and of high interest to my students. Being able to share new information with them energizes me and that carries forward to my students getting excited about learning as well. I will be able to continue my education during the summer for three years and I can't wait to dive in right away with the recorded seminars. I will also be able to purchase supplies needed for more hands-on learning activities. This grant will be able to touch many lives and make a positive difference! Many, many thanks!"

"I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for awarding me the $500 School Cash Club Grant for 2024, Wave 1. I am truly honored to receive this support from such a prestigious organization. I am particularly excited about using these funds to purchase books for my students, enabling me to continue our book club over the summer following the 2024-2025 school year. By encouraging students to keep reading during the break, I aim to foster their love of literature and help prevent any loss of reading skills. Again, Thank you for your generosity and for supporting my efforts to promote literacy and a lifelong love of reading among students."

"I am very appreciative of NHSS! My first experience with the group was as a high school student but was reintroduced when a student nominated me for Educator of Distinction in my 8th year of teaching. I have since applied for grants and have received much-needed funding for my dance classes. NHSS has been a wonderful resource for me as an educator."

This support doesn't just benefit me because it directly impacts my students by providing resources that would otherwise be out of reach. "Receiving support from NSHSS is truly meaningful, not just for me, but for the students and educators I serve. This grant helps expand opportunities for students in the Northern Mariana Islands, where access to resources can be limited, and ensures they are better prepared for college, careers, and a rapidly changing world. Many of our students face geographic barriers, and this support helps bridge those gaps. I’m grateful for NSHSS’s commitment to uplifting educators and students who are working to make a difference in their communities. This support reminds us that our work matters and that investing in education has the power to transform lives."
